It’s been a month since I got my Apple Watch series 6 (Nike Edition) and it’s already become an inseparable gadget in my day-to-day life. It fits in nicely and firmly on my hand, has a premium watch feel to it by both look and feel. Like any other Apple device, it’s seamlessly smooth and works great alongside my iPhone 12 Pro. But these are something everyone say about all Apple gadgets. Check out the following bullets for a detailed review of what you might want to use your Apple watch for:

Cool new stuffs:

  1. Leave your phone at home while you go out for a run: This was my primary purpose for buying an Apple watch. Since it comes with cellular, I can stream music on my Airpods pro while on a run and enjoy my run without worrying about my iPhone falling off from my pocket. I can also listen to audiobooks using the Audible app on my Apple watch. This is super convenient and super fun. I turn off my calls, mute the world and it’s just me and my run with some awesome background music.
  2. Shazam: Shazam in Apple Watch is like a friend on your wrist always identifying the song you can’t recognize. Pretty cool, eh ?
  3. Close the Rings: Makes sure you have had your regular dose of Standing, Movement and exercise. These are 3 rings which fill up as you get stand, move and excercise daily. Remember to close your rings, everyday.
  4. Monitor my investments on Robinhood: I use it to check my investments right on my wrists. It is well made to display the most relevant information. If you want detailed info you can always check your phone.
  5. Read News: News apps on Apple watch are well made to provide you news in concise way. I love reading news on my watch.

Regular old stuffs:

  1. As a wristwatch: Since it’s an “Apple watch”, you probably will occasionally use it as a watch i.e to view time. The benefits of a smartwatch over regular watch is obvious. Time can be set to digital or analog versions with the format you want it in. You can also use it as a calendar on your wrist.
  2. Reminders, alarms and voice memos: The regular old apps to organize your life and stuff. I should probably use it more.
  3. Fitness: I am mostly using it to record my walks and runs. I intend to begin using apple fitness and start some more rigorous workouts as well. Hopefully the day will come soon.
  4. Receive notifications and texts: Nothing amazing about that but quite convenient. I have no excuses to avoid my mom’s call anymore though, sigh.
  5. Weather forecasts: You can get your daily and weekly whether forecasts on your wrists. Fun stuff.

Quirky and fun stuffs:

  1. Breathe: Every day my watch reminds me thrice to have 5 minutes breathing sessions where I just focus on my breathing and relax. The app vibrates as you inhale, gradually increasing its intensity which is a pretty good motivator. You must try it out if you cant focus for meditation.
  2. Watch faces: A Time lapsed version of California, New york is something I regularly use to have a vicarious feeling of being in those cities. You can also choose Earth and Moon versions which brighten up during day and gradually dims as evening approaches. Quirky but pretty cool.
  3. Compass and Elevation: If you are climbing stairs, or in an elevator or hiking, turn on the compass and watch the elevation increase in real-time. This is extremely fun to me for some reason.
  4. Walkie Talkie: Ground Control to Major Tom, when shall we meetup ? As a kid I used to love my walkie-talkie that I used to play with my friends. This is same thing but you can speak to anyone across the world with Apple watch. I think it’s super awesome feature.
  5. Find your phone: I keep forgetting where I left my phone all the time. This is a handy feature which makes your phone beep when you press this button.
